There are journeys for the books, not because of the destination, it is more about the way you are traveling. Imagine you are doing a long road-trip through different landscapes on diverse roads, having the possibility to change plans or choosing another route and discovering the unexpected. This is what we did, from the north of Portugal to the south. Our unexpected journey.
On the road, in a comfortable seat we started our trip from Porto. Our travel companion, the new Lexus RX 450H, with an incredible Hybrid performance (even trees applauded…). This self charging hybrid car is coming with a 3.5 litre V-6 engine and is paired with powerful electric motors and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. This advanced hybrid system provides a combined 308 total system horsepower and instant torque delivery.
The high complex interaction of the system is not noticeable at all. This luxury liner starts silently and switches smoothly to the combustion V6 later. You will not feel the change between the activated petrol and the combustion-free electric drive. If you do not keep an eye on the tachometer, you will not notice the switch.To have a different scenery we decided to change the road from the highway to the country road. Golden fields, olive trees and free animals in the green countryside welcomed us. We enjoyed the panorama window, time flew and hours felt like minutes. It was one of the most impressive roads I took, a feeling like I was driving inside of a painting.
The well spaced interior of the Lexus, from the luxurious materials to the convenient touchscreen, made our travel as comfortable as possible.Thanks to the impressive fuel efficiency, 50 percent of the propulsion of our travel was used by the electric motors. An eco-friendly way of traveling, embraced by nature.This journey was more about the travel, the ride with Lexus and the matching with the surroundings.
