Night was falling on the island of Madeira and a frenzy of sparkling lights awaits our arrival after a boat crossing that brings us from Porto Santo to Funchal in a 3 hours trip. The sunset touched the sea in a serene, calm, and shy way. And then we arrived, in the midst of these thousands of lights from houses, cars, roads… Smells of sea and land. It almost smelled like home.
“the food, the people and the comfort are taken very seriously. But this place is anything but serious, it is a place to relax, make new friends and bring old ones.”
Madeira, the island that welcomes everyone, the island of the four seasons, where the sun comes and disappears without justification, where the snow is shy but never escapes, where the wind and fog are invited and stay as long as they want. In the heart of the city, where the human buzz is now resting, a “tree” rises towards the sky in the shape of a boat as if it were embracing the sea. Exotic plants are growing at the base of this concrete tree on a silent night. This place asks us to feel at home, so be it. This will be our home for the next few days. On the fifth floor are the “tree” rooms, more specifically the apartments. These are equipped with everything we need to feel at home. Whether for the days we are willing to cook, or simply stretch our legs and watch our favorite series or movie on the giant tv in the living room of each of these apartments.
“A swimming pool on the rooftop, as unique as it is magnificent that could be used for a yoga class or for a fashion show“
The accommodations are completely new with a light and minimal decor but extremely comfortable and modern. Small details make the difference: bathroom soap is made locally in Madeira in order to promote local businesses. And beeing sustainable is the biggest responsibility nowadays, at the end of the corridor you will find a water purifier with micro-filtration and refrigeration technology, which purifies the local water, eliminating 99.99% of the bacteria and contaminating agents, refining all properties. The benefits of water in a recycled glass bottle and without disposable bottles. Let’s talk a little about the corridor, a small jungle at the top of the tree. In the air a lovely fragrance, a well kept secret between the owners. This wild corridor takes us to the rooftop, to what we can call the “hot spot” of Three House. Here anything can happen. The warm and strong colors, the dense vegetation, the rhythms that rock us and the 360 ‘view… This is the place to be. We can kiss the sea with our eyes, and delight our mouths with the best cocktails in town. Yes, the best ones. Brunch is divine, delicious and served strictly. The details of each dish are taken to the maximum, providing us with an adventure of flavors and colors and also accompanied by the best energetic juices for long mornings. The owners of this place knew what they were doing when they created it: exotic, hot, fragrant, delicious and unique. A swimming pool on the rooftop, as unique as it is magnificent that could be used for a yoga class or for a fashion show. Here the afternoons are long and the sunset is endless. We can hear the sea, we can see the shy sun lying on the water again. The lights go down, the music goes up, conversations are muted but we exchange looks and smiles with another delicious cocktail. The food, the people and the comfort are taken very seriously. But this place is anything but serious, it is a place to relax, make new friends and bring old ones. It’s a place to live one, two or three days… We need some rest now at Three House hotel.
