” It was really interesting to photograph these three strong womEn and Athletes. They had that contest and game mentality all around them! Talking to them and analysing their bodies and behaviour, I could feel how powerful this ultimate and beyond body state could be. Almost a feeling to envy, as this state must be something true superhero like. I can’t wait to have them back in my studio when they reached that goal later this year. “
story and words by Philippe Vogelenzang
” I started bodybuilding in 2017. Before that, I was into athletics. I always loved to train and work hard. After a couple of months in the gym a bodybuilder, who also competed, said to me, why don’t you compete? At first, I was like that’s so not me. Couldn’t see myself stepping on stage with a suit, high heels, and spray tan. But he kept motivating me and after a year I felt confident enough to step on stage! And what I never expected happened, I loved it so much! My biggest difficulties faced in this practice are the long-term goals. Some results you don’t see anytime soon. To reach those goals you need discipline and persistence. You need to trust the process. To see your body changing slowly is what keeps me motivated. When I step on stage I feel free. I enjoy every second on stage. It feels FANTASTIC. I love the whole process, I love everything about this sport! To see the result on stage after all the hard work is what keeps me pushing even harder the next time. “
